We’re Excited!

While we have a suite of Walk-BEST products, we are most excited about progress on our Heel2Toe sensor.  This is the first therapeutic wearable of its kind. This small device clips to the outside of a walking shoe and provides positive auditory feedback in real-time every time the person makes a “good step”, one when the step starts with a strong heel strike.  We now have 20 prototypes of this sensor, which are being tested in a randomized clinical trial for people with Parkinson’s.

Our next step is to manufacture 1000 sensors.  Each sensor comes with a smartphone mobile app that records the ankle movements during stepping, provides auditory feedback for a good step, summarizes the walking performance, and suggests recommendations for improvement.
