Major New Features
Home Screen Dashboard
A brand-new Home Screen has been introduced as the main landing page after login. It provides an at-a-glance overview of analytics and client information, including:
- A user or client profile card with an editable name and age.
- A Risk of Fall assessment card that calculates and displays fall-risk probability using heel-strike data and age.
- Key statistics such as total sessions and last session date.
- A Sessions per Week bar chart that visually tracks activity over time.
Multi-Client & Single-User Modes
The app now supports two distinct usage modes:
- Single-User Mode: for individual users.
- Multi-Client Clinic Mode: for healthcare providers managing multiple clients.
Switch modes directly from the Home Screen. In clinic mode, you can select an existing client from a dropdown, view filtered analytics, or add new clients. Client data (name and age) is now stored and managed in a secure Firestore sub-collection called clientsLocal for faster access and reliable synchronization.
Risk of Fall Analytics
The new RiskOfFallCalculator implements a logistic regression model that predicts fall-risk probability based on heel-strike data and client age. A dedicated Risk of Fall screen provides a detailed breakdown of the assessment and supports progress tracking over time.
Client Profile Management
A new Edit User Profile dialogue allows users to update their name and age in single-user mode or adjust the active client’s age in clinic mode. Profiles are now displayed consistently across all screens using redesigned UserProfileCard and UserProfileCondensed layouts for a more unified user experience.
Notifications & Auto-Refresh
Session data screens now refresh automatically once cloud processing completes, and users receive a clear notification when new analytics are available.
Refinements & Fixes
UI/UX Enhancements
- The Gait Quality, Gait Fatigue, and History charts are now responsive for smaller screens, improving readability.
- The Upload screen (dashboard) includes platform-specific images and clearer connection steps for the Heel2Toe device.
- In multi-client mode, the app automatically displays data from the active client by default.
- Dialogues for cleaning the SD card and uploading files have been redesigned for improved clarity and workflow.
- The Home tab is now the new default navigation entry point for quicker access to analytics.
File & Data Handling
- Client names in session files are now normalized automatically based on the selected mode to ensure data consistency.
- File handling for iOS has been enhanced to manage expired security-scoped resource access more gracefully when reading or writing to the device.
Authentication Flow
- After login or consent, the user is now directed immediately to the new Home Screen.
- The sign-out process has been made more robust, ensuring all Firestore listeners are properly detached before logout to prevent permission errors or data conflicts.
Why This Update Matters
The Docking Station App now provides faster feedback, improved data synchronization, and more accurate fall-risk insights. Whether you’re an individual user tracking your progress or a clinician monitoring multiple clients, the enhanced dashboard, analytics, and automation features make mobility tracking simpler and smarter than ever.
