When she put the band on, her pain went away. However, when she removes it, the back of her knee hurts. What adjustments do you suggest?
- •This can happen if the band is not loosened or removed when sitting.
- •Make sure the band is positioned 2 finger-widths below the knee crease when seated.
- •Be sure to fully extend the knee with each step when walking.
- •Start with short wearing periods and remove it frequently until you get used to it.
- •Try loosening it slightly.
- •Use it mainly for the most painful activities (gym, sports, stair climbing). As you strengthen your knees, you should see improvement.
- •Apply an ice pack to the back of the knee when you remove the band.
